Commercial Gate Installation: How We Secured a Large Industrial Facility in West Tennessee
Unilever Gates
What We Installed
This project featured a full ornamental steel perimeter fence and a multi-lane automated gate system designed to manage high-volume vehicle traffic. The installation included:
- Dual swing/slide entry gates spanning wide vehicle lanes for both entry and exit
- Covered guard or access-control stations positioned at the entry points
- Ornamental steel perimeter fencing with spear-top pickets for a clean, professional appearance
- Concrete-set posts throughout for maximum long-term stability
- Freshly poured concrete approach pads at each gate opening
The black powder-coated steel finish gives the entire perimeter a sharp, uniform look while also standing up to the Tennessee weather year-round without rusting or fading.
Why Ornamental Steel for a Commercial Property?
A lot of industrial and commercial facilities default to chain link because of the lower upfront cost. And while chain link absolutely has its place, ornamental steel offers something chain link can't, a look that says this facility is professional, secure, and well-maintained.
For large employers and major brands, the entrance to a facility is part of the company image. A sharp gate system with covered entry stations communicates that the property is managed with care. It's curb appeal with a purpose.
Beyond looks, ornamental steel fencing is:
- Extremely durable — steel doesn't warp, sag, or deteriorate the way wood can
- Low maintenance — powder coating means no painting, no staining, just an occasional rinse
- Highly secure — spear-top pickets and solid post construction create a serious deterrent
- Customizable — height, spacing, finish, and gate width can all be tailored to the facility's needs
The Installation Process
A commercial project of this scale requires careful planning before a single post goes in the ground. Our team assessed the site layout, vehicle traffic flow, soil conditions, and gate span requirements before any equipment was mobilized.
Post Setting On large commercial installations, we set every post in concrete, no exceptions. For wide gate openings especially, the hinge posts take on significant stress every time a gate opens and closes. A post that isn't properly anchored will eventually shift, causing alignment issues and premature wear on the gate hardware.
Gate Alignment Getting the gates to swing or slide cleanly across multiple lanes requires precision during installation. We take the time to level and align everything properly so the gates operate smoothly from day one and continue to do so for years without adjustment.
Covered Entry Stations The canopy structures over the entry lanes add both function and professionalism to the installation. They protect personnel or equipment at the access point from rain and sun, and they tie the whole entrance together visually.
Is a Commercial Gate System Right for Your Business?
If your business manages a facility with regular vehicle traffic, valuable equipment, or a large number of employees coming and going, a well-designed gate system is one of the smartest investments you can make. It controls access, improves site security, and gives your property a professional appearance from the street.
We work with all types of commercial clients, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, office complexes, and more. No project is too large or too complex for our team.
